Tourism: An Engine for Employment Creation and Economic Stimulus
 
 
 
The tourism industry continues to be amongst the most dynamic economic sectors, generating a wide range of benefits including a growing contribution to GDP, in some cases over 10%, and substantial foreign exchange earnings. Tourism as a reliable tool for sustainable job creation was at the centre of the 5th UNWTO International Conference on Tourism Statistics (Bali, Indonesia, 30 March-2 April 2009), with 450 participants from 70 countries and nine international organizations.

 During 3-5 April, 2009 in Tbilisi was organized Caucasus Tourism Fair 2009 (CTF), where ATA was presented together with Department of Tourism and Resorts of Adjara AR.

Government allocates Gel 130,000 for the tourism exhibition in Batumi
 
 
 
The tourist season has not yet started in Adjara, but Tourist and Resorts Department of Adjara has decided to hold the tourist exhibition in Batumi, on May 8-10.Government of Georgia, has allocated about GEL 130,000 for the event from the budget of Tourism Department.
